The why behind the proposal:

The current constitution, introduced over two years ago, no longer reflects the evolving nature of Reform DAO. The initial document served as a foundation, but now, with the input and feedback from the community, it is necessary to update the constitution. The new version will incorporate a more comprehensive outline of governance rules, including extended proposal timelines and updated quorum requirements for decisions. It will also provide clearer insights into Reform’s mission for 2025 and beyond, as well as improve transparency regarding treasury management and token flow areas not fully addressed in the old constitution.

A more detailed explanation of the proposal:

Established on 02 March 2023, the current constitution is nearing two years of age and no longer aligns with the vision for Reform DAO moving forward. To protect the rights of token holders and align with the evolving outlook of Reform DAO, the core contributors propose a new version of the constitution.

The goal is to formalize a transparent, well-structured document that clearly defines the distribution of authority within the Reform ecosystem. The new constitution will safeguard the rights of token holders by clarifying their involvement in decision-making and ensuring their participation in the governance process. It will also detail the roles of community members, contributors, and core contributors within the DAO framework.

Among the key additions in the new constitution are:

  • Mission and Vision for Reform: Clear articulation of Reform’s future objectives, focusing on transparency and decentralized governance.
  • Organizational Structure: Explanation of Hofida Limited’s role within the Reform DAO, ensuring token holders understand its impact.
  • Token Flow Transparency: A full disclosure of wallets related to Hofida Limited and Reform DAO, offering insight into token allocation and the future flow of $RFRM, including vesting arrangements for the team and advisors.
  • Governance Process: Clearer rules and conditions for proposal durations, voting, and quorum requirements, with a more comprehensive approach to $eRFRM governance.

The updated constitution aims to increase transparency, protect token holders, and ensure the DAO remains a truly decentralized organization.
